Mobile Medical Society Woman’s Auxiliary Records

The Woman’s Auxiliary to the Medical Society of Mobile County held its first meeting January 21, 1930. Modeled after the Alabama and National Woman’s Auxiliaries, the Mobile Auxiliary contained the wives of doctors of the Mobile County Medical Society. The auxiliary organized and participated in charitable events, scholarship funds, and retirement services for those in the Mobile medical community. In 1993, the Woman’s Auxiliary admitted men, and changed its name to The Alliance to the Medical Society of Mobile County.
